Synopsis

“A lot can happen in a day.“

We follow a dysfunctional family, over one important day, attempting to come to terms with their grief in their own unique ways. A young man is drawn into their lives, into their struggles.

In this tragicomedy, people are consumed by misery yet the play remains refreshingly, surprisingly, heartbreakingly funny.

Joe White’s first play debuted in London in April 2018 to critical acclaim. Join Street Theatre to celebrate this exciting new play by an exciting new playwright.

Reviews of our performance:

You will have gathered, I hope, that I liked this new play very much, …. and that I thought you all made a terrific job of its amateur theatre ‘premiere’ in Street. Many congratulations to the whole team who had invested so much time and effort in ensuring its undoubted success.

Mayfly is hard, human drama, and it is difficult to imagine its being better performed or directed than at Street.
